In case of an emergency, the first witness must analyze the situation as soon as possible. If the situation seems to be urgent, request for an immediate rescue and then conduct first aid.

Emergency Call
- Call 119 and request for an immediate rescue.

Emergency Report Lists
- Cause of the accident, patient’ condition (consciousness, external injury, etc.)

Classification of Emergency
- Based on the severity, emergency patients can be classified as following:
- Stage 1. Urgency -- Requiring an immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Stage 2. Emergency -- Delayed treatment can lead to an urgent condition
- Stage 3. Sub-emergency -- Fast treatments are needed, but do not require urgent or emergent treatment

Emergency Response Plan
- For an urgent or emergency case, call 119 immediately and then conduct first aid
A sub-emergency patient may visit the SNUHSC after first aid has been delivered.

Prompt First aid
- Prompt first aid by the direction of 119 counselor
In cardiac arrest, conduct CPR.
- Check and report the patient’s condition frequently and follow the instructions of the 119 counselor.
Arrival of 119 Rescue Team / Hospital Transfer
- When the 119 rescue team arrive, explain the patient’s condition and describe the first aid conducted
- Assist rescue activities
