To assist prompt and accurate diagnosis and management of diseases for SNU members, SNUHSC provides various medical test services with the latest medical equipment.
What are laboratory tests?
Laboratory tests are conducted using medical devices that are intended for use on samples of blood, urine, or other tissues or substances taken from the body to help diagnose disease or other conditions.

Complete blood count
anemia, white blood cell, platelet, etc.
Chemistry
liver function, kidney function, cholesterol, diabetes, uric acid, etc.
Electrolyte
sodium, potassium, calcium, etc.
Immune/infection
hepatitis virus(A/B/C type), measles/mumps/rubella/varicella antibody, AIDS, venereal disease, etc.
Drug/heavy metal
drug(TBPE, Opiates, cannabinoid), heavy metal (lead, mercury)
Hormone
thyroid hormone, female hormone, male hormone, etc.
Urine
proteinuria, glycosuria, urine blood, etc.

Some lab tests require 12 hour-fasting (e.g., blood sugar tests, cholesterol tests, etc.).

Depending on the items examined, the time it takes to report the results varies. Please revisit on the date you are informed and receive a doctor’s consultation on the test results.
